Mozilla bites sometimes

In Mozilla 1.3, when I go to download something, the download manager pops up and starts the download. That's a pretty neat little manager too. But when I exit the browser with the manager still running, I can't manage to get back into another browser. If I run mozilla again, it says I'm already logged in as the user for the download manager. Is there a way to open a browser when only the manager is open?

I don't use Mozilla so I could not recreate your problem however I tried what you suggest under galeon and no probs. Switch to galeon. It's lighter on resources and uses the same rendering engine as MoZilla

Can you kill the download manager? It seems like the download manager is running under your default Mozilla profile therefore it won't let you open up another browser under the default user.

You are correct. Mozilla bites. Try Opera. It's much nicer.
