mozilla and suse7.3

Tried to install mozilla 1.0 with the mozinstaller. The install works fine and mozilla starts ok - for the first time. When i close it and try to start again bash gives me a 'can't execute'.
In suse mozilla is in /opt/mozilla . I did delete that directory completly and created it again and specified the path for install.
Additional I installed in the mozilladefaultlocation /usr/local/mozilla. No luck. The install log shows everything ok and at first startup i do have the new version running . The permissions are ok too. I am sure it's something real easy that i am doing wrong - just don't know what.

LIVE UPDATE!!
I installed the tarball and actually got it to work with that - but i have to change into the mozilla directory and do ./mozilla to get it started - never mind. Now - of course - galeon doesn't work anymore; can't find mozilla - need to set MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME.
Which leads to the questions: what kind of animal is this, where can i catch it and how do i fix it?
BTW - I only do the mozillainstall because i want to upgrade galeon
