Mozilla 1.7.12 fails to install on Fedora 4

Hi pplz
here's the problem: i use the non-installer package of mozilla 1.7.12 (mozilla suite, not firefox) and fc4. i un-tar-ed the package to /usr/local/mozilla and ran ./mozilla (as stated in the readme), and, yes i was logged in as root. but nothing happened, no window appeared, not even a single line of output.
does anyone know what is wrong, or at least where mozilla might have stored a log?
btw, it works without a glitch on another box with suse 9.2 on it.

you can also remove that stuff and do "yum install mozilla"
