nope it isn't
it's your default kernel file.
If you type "cp /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/bzimage /boot/vmlinuz", the file boot/vmlinuz will be overwritten by the bzImage file contents.
instead of overwriting vmlinuz (unless you want to restore your already broken kernel off course), I'd prefer to create another file in there, for example /boot/kernel-2.4.22-may03. Then I create a new image= section in lilo.conf, and update the MBR by running lilo.
