Mozilla 1.2.1 and JRE
Hello everyone. I'm posting because of a serious problem I have with the Java Plugin and Mozilla.
I recently switched to RedHat and I'm starting to get used to using Mozilla. I have installed the JRE and I am trying to install the Java plugin. The problem comes because everytime I load a page that requires the plugin, Mozilla terminates, just completely closes. I created a symbolic link to the plugin file in the Mozilla/Plugins folder. I also used "About Plugins" to confirm that the Java plugin is installed. Yet the browser still repeatedly closes and the plugin in fails. I have had the same results with Netscape. Could someone PLEASE help me? ! Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you |
i suggest you try blackdown java; use these instructions.
and get the java runtime here. *note which of the two j2re files you need, depends on the version of gcc you are using. good luck. |
i've also heard that java will crash mozilla that was built with a newer library (or something like that).

The 1.4.2-beta from Sun and the plugin from ns610-gcc32 should work fine. The blackdown gcc32 version should also be ok
