Moving grub to another partition

This may sound silly but when I was reinstalling linux I didn't pay enough attention to what I was doing and installed the boot loader to the wrong drive.

Obviously it works fine, but I have a dedicated boot loader in it's own partition, then a windows partition, then another ntfs partition, then linux boot, native, swap.

I accidentally put it in place of my MBR, not a prob as the boot loader I have can be recovered but my question is this - do I just overwrite it or move it or what?

I'm fairly new to linux, but not stupid!

So...you installed grub to the MBR or you want to install grub to the MBR?

I did install grub to the master boot record... I'd rather have installed it to any of the linux drives and keep my MBR clean of it and point my own bootloader to grub.

Ok, thats easy to do.
Have a look at the man page for the "grub-install" command.
