I have a copy of XP on one of my laptops that has reached the end. It is almost to the point I can no longer use it. I still need my copy of MS Office (Impress just doesn't cut it for PowerPoint which I use frequently). I can only use my Office product key 3 times, which I have already. I don't want to pay another $100 for a new key, especially because another Microsoft product is the cause of the problem. Is there a way I can move my existing installation over to wine on my Debian server. I know there are a lot of registry entries that need to be moved. Can I just copy the registry from that machine into the Wine registry?
3 copy at a time, not active it 3 time. 2003 does not check online if I remember right. Just unplug your network and enter your key. It may work. I use a corporate license, so I can't tell. But even office 2004 had limited ability to check for validity. It checked only on the LAN.
Can't do it that way. In 2003 they built in a protection system. You can install Office and use it for 49 days. If it does not get registered online after 49 days, it locks itself. I am sure there is a way to defeat that, but I don't know it. I wish it were 3 copies at a time. I thought it was the strangest liscense I had seen. I can only use the key 3 times is what it says, not 3 copies at a time. Makes no sense I know, but that is what it says.

Almost certain not to work and to break your Wine installation.

Seems to be the way Microsoft is going these days.
