trying to play a .mov media file with totem movie player on mandrake 9.2.. i dont have the audio codecs for it im assuming as i have video and no sound. anyone know where to get the right codecs and/or an easy way to install them?? tnx..
you need to also install the .mov plugin which normally comes with xine or any other player depending on your distro of linux it might have it on the cd look around on the same site .. a really good player to use is gxine which will play streeming .mov amog others
You need the QuickTime codecs. The default open source one can't handle the latest QuickTime videos. You can get these codecs and more here. Just extract everything into either /usr/lib/win32 or $HOME/.gnome2/totem-addons/.
