Mouse jumps around in xfree 4.3 every now and then...

Every now and then, my ps/2 mouse starts jumping around the screen. This only started happening when I upgraded from kernel 2.4.2.2 to 2.6.0.

Anyone knows why this would be happening?

Is USB support compiled into the kernel?

Just curious. I was having trouble with my PS/2 mouse and modem because I had an unused device plugged into the USB port and hadn't compiled support for it into the kernel.

<edited> I should have mentioned that unplugging the device also solved the problem.
