Mouse click on monitor 1 kills full-screen in flash on monitor 2. Can this be fixed?
 

I'm playing with dual monitors. I have an NVIDIA GT220 set up so that my monitor and my TV are running as extended desktops. Everything is working well enough, but there is one annoying bit I've noticed:


If I'm watching youtube on monitor 1 in fullscreen and working on monitor 2, clicking anything in monitor 2 kills full-screen in monitor 1. Is this something that can be fixed somehow or is it a hardwired "feature"?

Eeek. Don't know much about dual monitors, but could this be a WM problem, rather than a hardware/driver/setup problem?

It seems like a built in part of flash since it seems to be limited to flash.

The only reason i was asking is because certain WMs (especially tiling WMs) don't handle flash videos particularly well. If you've determined that it is a problem with flash itself then there probably isn't much you can do about that.

What is an example of a tiling WM?

Scrotwm, DWM, Xmonad, I3, Awesome. But it doesn't matter. If you don't know what it is, you don't have one.

What WM or Desktop enviroment are you using?

Hm-hm-hm. KDE should be pretty stable with graphical programs, but just out of curiosity, are you using some KDE software to setup multi-display, or could you easily test with Fluxbox or something else?

While you're messing with that, I'll consult google a bit on this one and see if I can dig anything up.

Right now I'm actually on my previous slackbox digging through a years worth of invoices while simultaneously trying to figure out why my Ubuntu laptop that I use all day at work suddenly doesn't see any wireless network, which means the machine in question is sitting in the floor waiting for it's power to be restored! But yeah I can check fluxbox in just a few minutes.

Ubuntu problem: I was actually just helping someone else with a Ubuntu bug and ran across a similar problem in the process. You wouldn't have upgraded that Ubuntu box recently would you have? It appears there were numerous bugs in one of the recent updates.

I hadn't updated very recently, but in the process of trying to fix it I did (it's 9.04) and it did 37 updates. That didn't fix it. I tried a live cd and had no wireless there so I dismantled it hoping to find the wireless card, no go. Had the battery out (for the first time in 18 months) for about 5 minutes, rebooted, wireless magically started working. Go figure. It's the first problem I've had with the machine since switching from vi$ta and settling on Ubuntu for it. Not bad for the way I treat it I guess. It's really just a tool all day at work like my cable-makers, hammer, or drill and gets thrown around about the same as well!

Thanks for the help, Fluxbox is going to have to wait for tomorrow, I'm too tired at this point to put my Slackbox back together.

Well that explains that. If the wireless goes out on it again, just don't use it on yout nails!
