mounting /home from last install

I ran out of room on my root partition, so I booted from the MDK 9.1 disk and repartitioned my windows drive to give me more room. I then deleted my previous root partition and joined it with the new space for my new / partition. I would like to get back the /home partition that still exists, however i am unsure how to "mount" it and diskdrake seemed to want to delete everything that was in the old /home partition, which is bad, and man mount didn't seem to clarify the point. Anyway, perhaps the data is lost and i should just start over with diskdrake, i just dont want to erase everything on accident while playing with /mount, and thought i should probably ask to see if it's easy to get my /home directory back before i go messing things up. Thanks for your time.

If you need to edit your /home partition size, then you should copy everything out of home and back it up on something, then recopy it back after mounting that partition. If it already has all of the size in it that you want, you just set that partition as a mount point and then mount it, and everything should come back (It has an option asking if you want to save it)

Ok. Well the size is fine. I'm using diskdrake, i clicked the mount point, typed in "/home", pressed enter once or twice, and I'm currently at the message "After formatting partition hda7, all data on this partition will be lost."
Ok Cancel

If this is ok, and the stuff will still come back, then i guess i just need to press "ok". It's just that message... scares me. It seems to be exactly what i don't want to do.

Hmmph.

I'm sorry, I just need some kind of confirmation.

So even though it says everything will be erased, this is what i want to do?

Oh well, there's a first time for everything. I'm sure in a week or two i'll be mounting and unmounting like nobody's business.

Well, since it's already formatted in ext3, it shouldn't need to format it again, right? thus i wont lose anything.... however if it tries to anyway.... ah screw it, i'm pressing ok.

it appears i lost my old /home partition. It formatted the partition (again ?) and it's empty....
*sigh*

oh well, thanks anyway. I had better get installing, i've got some catching up to do.
