Got the ZIP part working...
Hi TippyToes,
I don't know if the settings that I found to work will be of any use for you or not. My CD worked when the system came up but isn't happy with life at the moment (I'm afraid I may have inadvertently changed its fstab line). However, the ZIP drive is working (at least I can mount it and read it--finally!).
I created a zip directory under /media (even though that seemed an odd spot, since the CD was already there...):
mkdir /media/zip
But it wouldn't mount no matter what. It turns out the missing element is that the partition number for the %$#@! zip drive is 4, so, I was finally able to mount it:
mount -t vfat /dev/hdh4 /media/zip
I've put what I think is a correct line in fstab and we'll see if the Disk Manager won't allow mounting it next time. It does should it as mounted and so I'm hopeful!
If you figured out anything in the last 2 weeks, I'd be interested to hear it!
Cheers,
John
