hi all.

I want to use a partition in my second ahrdeive as a data backup. Just in case. Here is what I have.

Master hard drive formatted into 3 partitions. partition one, win xp. partition 2 linux with the correct root and swap etc. Partition 3 is for mp3's. That drive is an 80 gig drive.

Now, the second drive on my system is only around 8 gig. However I used to partition Magic to split that drive so that one part is ntfs data backup and the other is linux data backup.

What I want to know is, how do I mount or even just access the second hardrive so that I can copy data to if from linux ?

I'm using Rh9 and kde

you need to edit /etc/fstab
and add the 2nd drive and make a mount point for it............

this may give you a little more direction.

for your hdd you may need to add something like this

dev/hdc /windowsxp ntfs defaults 0 0

and then to mount

mount /windowsxp

make sure your drives have mount points and you should be all set.
