Mount a Truecrypt volume as /home/knoppix

I'm booting Knoppix 5.1.1 live from my 8GB USB flash drive. On the flash drive, there's a 2GB Truecrypt volume formatted as FAT16. I would like to mount this volume as my home dir for the knoppix user.

I've already successfully built Truecrypt 4.3a on Knoppix 5.1.1 using the kernel source on the Knoppix DVD, so that's no problem.

In order to mount a Truecrypt volume, I need to run the Truecrypt command to authenticate. So I need to get a shell under either root or knoppix, to do that first.

Can anyone suggest a way I can do this? Thanks.

Might not be ideal, but you could write a simple shell-script, and put it in the user(s) .profile/.bashrc/whereever, and have it check to see if the volume is mounted. If not, issue the command to authenticate, then mount it up, and continue.

Thanks, but the problem is there's no .profile/.bashrc unless I slip it in by remastering the Knoppix live distro which I would rather not do. I'm booting the live distro off the USB flash drive. And the only persistent directory I have is that TrueCrypt volume on the USB flash drive which is not mounted yet at boot time, until I can authenticate.

Whoops...good point.

There's always putting it in the system default profile, but then you'd have to remaster. However, if you want it to be automatic, something will have to change.
