Good morning, I have been stuck on a problem for about 2 days, and after searching everywhere and trying many things I think its time to ask for help.
I have an .E01 image of a disk, which contains about 6 partitions that were in a linux raid 1. I need to mount these partitions as ext4 so that i can recover all the files. the mount command has been failing as these partitions have 'linux raid autodetect' file system not ext4. attempts to force these to mount with ext4 don't work either.
To start with i use ewfmount to mount the e01 file, then I set up a loop and run kpartx to map the partitions. So I have the output:
Code:
add map loop77p1 (252:0): 0 204800 linear /dev/loop77 2048
add map loop77p2 (252:1): 0 40960000 linear /dev/loop77 206848
add map loop77p3 (252:2): 0 40960000 linear /dev/loop77 41166848
add map loop77p4 (252:3): 0 1871394816 linear /dev/loop77 82126848
add map loop77p5 (252:4): 0 81920000 252:3 4096
add map loop77p6 (252:5): 0 16384000 252:3 81926144
add map loop77p7 (252:6): 0 1773082624 252:3 98312192
I have tried multiple attempts to use mdadm to create a raid array from these partitions however I am having a bit of trouble and my linux box keeps crashing.
Anyone have any ideas how i can mount the partitions as ext4. I really need to get the files back!
Thanks,
RW
