icewm ( easy to be configured ) | fvwm ( more flexible ) + win themes ( icewm: xp, berryxp, silverxp, ....... a lot: see www.themes.org , fvwm: see http://xwinman.org/fvwm.html for an xp theme ) + idesk ( for the icons on the desktop together with icewm) + xfe or endeavour mark2 ( file managers ).
They are both fast. Of course there are also classic windows themes.
Well, even if i know how to have a win like theme i don't use such a "thing" but i use window maker
well, if u want something like windows, why dont u use windows itself ?
why? of all the legal reasons i dont have a valid M$ Windos license and i dont want to be sued by M$ for that. when i began using linux not only i had had the graphical environment adjustment but also my sister, my mom, my cousin, and everyone of us here.
so right now what we seek is to feel comftable in using Linux. thats all.
Cool!. Well, I had to use an optimized distribution based in Slackaware 3.5, but still, it run IceWM neatly (and it's the default WM). Take a look at Grey Cat Linux 3.0. It's impressive how an old computer like that can be made useful, even for surfing the web (GCL comes with an old Netscape)
well if you want to use an XP$ like interface then get the latest version of KDE. it has lots of KDE-only apps, and KDE configruation tools - very W$-like
But i'm sure Fvwm95 will do if you just want a plain 95 interface.
