Question More Kazaa Wine(ing) .specific error.

please bear with me <-----

This is the contents of the terminal window

[root@Darkside Kazaa Lite]# ls
db kazaahelp.chm Kazupernodes kliteconfig.exe klrun.exe ksharedfolder.exe KSig.exe unins000.dat web
help.ico KazaaLite.kpp KDat.exe klite.ico kpp.exe kshared.ico Skins unins000.exe
[root@Darkside Kazaa Lite]# wine kpp.exe
[root@Darkside Kazaa Lite]# fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Unknown directory 15 ignored

the above error occurs with an aditional gui error box in gnome stating Load Library() failed.

Can anyone sugest how I might proceed?

I have a kazaa problem too.
I installed wine-20030618-mdk9.1.i586.rpm

Working AFAIK

Installed winetools

Working, I installed kazaa_lite_kpp_edition_240_english.exe with it and it set up all the fake files and dir's etc.

I cannot run Kazaa If I type wine kpp.exe into the terminal I get :-
Code:
[mike@localhost downloads]$ wine kpp.exe
wine: cannot find 'kpp.exe'
I've added the lines from this tutorial http://www.frankscorner.org/kazaa_li..._0_build3.html Except my App is Kazaa.kpp and NOT kazaalite.kpp

How can I run it?

Thanks

mrtickle looking at "your error" your in the downloads folder...that can't be where you installed kazaa is it? you have to go to /home/user/.wine/c/Program\ Files/KazaaLite/ and then run wine kpp.exe, you have to be in the folder where the executable is....
i don't know if thats the proper path, i just guessed but i think you will get my drift

Thanks DrOzz

I couldn't cd to that folder until I did the / slash thing. I never noticed that before

It's working now, but very slow. I'll have to uninstall it an install an older version (1.7.2)

@Abomination: See here too --> http://appdb.winehq.com/appview.php?appId=747

Oh well... I've learned something else today With all the new stuff I'm learning that goes in, I just hope it doesn't push the old stuff out

yes i think it is naturally slow running through wine....maybe you could consider using a file sharing program that is made to run in linux, as there is a quite a few, and without me having to go root through my bookmarks, a site i can think of off my head it www.zeropaid.com where they have a linux section on their site for p2p apps. and they are listed as highest rated...thats just off the top of my head where that site is for p2p apps, but if you wanted you could also search freshmeat.net or sourceforge.net to find others...

From what I've heard versions before 2 were not slow. I've tried some of the native linux file sharing programs and they all seem to be lacking when compared with the kazaa network.
