More Help with Netzero

Hello,

First off I would like to say that I am extremely new to Linux, and any help to make it easier would be much appreciated, however that is not my main concern at the moment as I have begun to navigate it quite well.

Anyhow, my problem is with Netzero. I have read several other posts on this forum and other forums, and am still lost on how to access this program on Linux. I am using Mandrakelinux Version 10.1. I have come to learn that it is no longer known as Mandrakelinux, but that it is still the same thing.

I have read in several posts that you are able to access the "debian" files of the Netzero "Lindows" (Linspire) download by "booting" or "logging in" in several different fashions. I have read that you can get the program to work if you "login" as "boot" or "root" in some cases. I have tried what I believe is both, and neither have caused the file to load properly, or load for that matter.

I have the .deb file pack burnt onto a data disk, and it won't access it correctly, and by posting this, I think that some kind soul may be able to help me, and if not, set me straight.

I have read in several other posts where people just tell the person with the inquiry to scrap Netzero and load some other program to use. I am trying to do this for my father, and he is pretty well set on Netzero, so if any insight or information could be sent my way in the form of getting the "Debian" Netzero files to work in the Mandrakelinux (Mandriva Linux) OS I would gladly appreciate it.

I am quite new to this, so if anyone does reply, I would appreciate it if they could be as detailed as possible in their explanations so that I may do this quickly and efficiently without too many follow up questions.

Thanks and God Bless.

Sincerely,

James Henry McAninch
