monodoc-http gives a http 500 internal server error

I have a ubuntu dapper server and I installed monodoc-http there so that I can use this server as a web server where I am hosting some relevant documentations for my intranet, including mono's documentation. This way I don't have to install monodoc on several other computers that need it.

The problem is that when I run the /usr/bin/monodoc-http program that fires the mono-xsp server hosting the mono documentation, and I visit this application from a web server, either locally with links or from another host with firefox/opera/ie I get a page with the basic layout (a top frame, then a left frame and a bigger one on the right for the main view). But on the pages in the left sidebar frame and the main view show the same HTTP 500 Server Error message with a .NET stack trace

Code:
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

in <0x001e3> System.Web.HttpApplication:GetHandler (System.Web.HttpContext context)
in <0x00894> System.Web.HttpApplication+<Pipeline>__1:MoveNext ()
Above all these it read "Error processing request"

What's happening here? I don't have a clue!
Oh and this happens both when serving the application with xsp or with apache's mod_mono, so it does not seem to be a problem with the server but with some missing stuff perhaps?
