mono installation problems
Today was my forth attempt to install mono, and i think i have been to hell and back. It forced me to format my machine, after failing to get mono working, where could i be messing? I have also tried using add remove programs, but it is not working, i have tried to build it from the source, and i am experiencing problems. Is there any body out there who has installed mono in his/er machine, which is working fully, and is willing to offer a helping hand step by step, and is there a way to fully remove mono from my machine (uninstall). I am trying to meet a deadline, and it seems i will be forced 2 go back to windows, after advising my friends to try ubuntu. I am installing mono in Ubuntu 7.10. Please help!!
Perhaps you already tried this. If so, sorry.
Maybe try debian itself (no "Ubuntifications") and this install guide
Hope it helps.
Thanx alot piarata, am trying it now, am downloading it, if it works i will let you know, thanx 4 ur help. And does it have the monodevelop, or i will be forced 2 look 4 an alternative?
I wonder what the hell you want out of Mono, where I come from, it's a disease.
I tried doing it your way piarata, but i got this error!
root@MvServer:~# md5sum mono-188.8.131.52_2-installer.bin
md5sum: mono-184.108.40.206_2-installer.bin: No such file or directory
I downloaded the installer.bin on the desktop, can that be a problem, or where should i have placed it. I have also tried:
administrator@MvServer:~$ md5sum mono-1.9_5-installer.bin
md5sum: mono-1.9_5-installer.bin: No such file or directory
of which am getting the same error, now what would be the next move? Please help. 4 u junior hacker, i use many programs 2 design softwares, so i think Mono comes in handy. I like to make .Net programs, in linux, and wat is working is Mono. But thanx a lot 4 the concern.
