Monitor Employees over LAN in linux
 

Hi friends...

I am happy for what i am..
I am the System Admin for a BPO here in my Hometown.

Now i need help in this issue..

My network has systems in windows. Now i need to monitor what they are doing from my system. Is there any s/w available for that?

I searched in Internet and found this..

but its a windows S/W.. any suggestions or equivalets in Linux?

Specifically for Debian 5.0?

You need to be a lot more specific in what you want to monitor.
If it is network usage, you need to look at a firewall or a proxy.

Squid (proxy filter) or Shorewall (firewall filter) might be some choices..

More Specific???:doh:

Monitor what they are doing..
Like a screen-shot of their Desktop.. Like VNC, like TeamViewer,
but the ability to view multiple screens..

My network setup already has a Firewall Implemented..
Its ClearOS.. Used for content Filtering and Firewall..

The software is called iTALC...
Its opensource and its awesome...

It supports both windows and Linux.. It has support for Mac as well but with limited accesses..

Ability to monitor multiple systems as well.

try to implement video server.. and in your office you need to install hidden camera's

Thats a good idea but i don't want their privacy to be monitored on cam also i don't want to spent anymore money...

CCTV and video server would do a couple of bucks..

A s/w solution will prevent any misuse of office computers and also assisting them in some work..

Why dont you try to use Remote Desktop Viewer it is like vnc. most of linux have remote desktop viewer.
or try make all of your computer restricted.
disable sound, usb port and make accounts limited access.
uninstall unwanted software. games etc.
Conduct proxy server to block unwanted sites if in your office

I work in a BPO and we do NOT have vnc and this is a very big BPO. But yes what we have is _excellent_ mentors so there is no need to really monitor anything.

In addition, did try the link in post #4; the OP seemed to think it would work on MS & Linux & Mac.
