Money Management Program

It has been awhile since I have looked for a program for managing your money that works on Linux. I am sure things have changed since then. What are some good ones today, preferably open source? What are you using and why do you like it?

I've been using gnucash for the last year. It didn't appeal to me at first, but after I read the documentation and customised it to my needs, it turned out that it's a very useful program.

Gnucash is one I have used before and seems to be pretty good. Also, I've heard of Grisbi and Moneydance. I tried moneydance before, and it seemed okay.

There's a lot out there: the Fedora repository offers Gnucash, Grisbi, Homebank, Kmymoney, and Skrooge. I always think the best answer is to get several different programs and try them all: one of the great things about free software!

That said, I've used Gnucash for several years and I'm happy with it.

Thank you. I have used gnucash before. It is not all that user friendly so one definitely has to read the documentation. After doing that I got it working pretty good for me. Though I was curious if there was anything more user friendly.

I have used Money Dance as well, but I don't think it is open source. I don't mind sending a little money to anyone that is supporting Linux though.

True using them all and seeing which one I like best is an option, but that is kind of difficult when trying to keep up with your finances over several programs.
