modprobe on Suse 9.0

With linux-kernel 2.6.5.x suse 9.0, which file has the path to loadable
modules i.e where does modprobe "probe" to find the modules path?

Older versions used /etc/modules.conf to determine the
path. path[misc] = /lib/modules/version/x
