Modem locked up with SuSE 9.2

Hi everyone,
I upgraded from SuSE 8.2 to 9.2, and apart from a few niggles, everything is fine.

The biggest niggle is internet access! I'm using kppp, and found, as have others that the file /etc/ppp/peers/kppp was missing - I've added this and can now log in OK. However, I am having problems logging off from the modem! When I click on "quit", and then try to reconnect, I get a "modem busy" message, and most of the lights on the (external) modem are now on. I have to switch the modem off and on to clear this problem!

Is it just me? And if not, can anyone suggest a fix?

Make sure the settings for kppp are correct and will disconnect and also the permissions for the peer file.

The settings should be to Quit if you disconnect: "Quit on disconnect" which is on the Misc panel under Configure of the kppp utility. Also "Disconnect on X server shutdown" is a good one too.
