-mm4 kernel patch and lmsensors & i2c

Has anyone got lmsensors working with 2.6.3mm4? i patched and recompiled, but when i run sensors -s i get the following error;

as99127f-i2c-0-2d: Can't access procfs/sysfs file for writing;
Run as root?

i am logged in as root, and /sys and /proc are browseable, but i cannot get it to work... any ideas people?

For 2.6 kernels, make sure you have mounted sysfs!
For older kernels, make sure you have done 'modprobe i2c-proc'!
