MLDonkey/mlnet: creating sparse files - undesirable

Hi,
Does anybody know, is it possible to change the way mlnet handles the unfinished downloads? Instead of creating sparse files - to increment their size as the download progresses, like e.g. the bittorent client does? The problem is, I'd like to move my download dir onto a filesystem, that doesn't support sparse files. On other hand, I run many concurrent downloads, at different stage of completion. Some of them will be available before the others, and I can watch/listen/play/burn them, then delete them, freeing space for the next. If I simply move the files, they'll occupy much more space than now, since the target filesystem would have to write as zeroes all the megabytes that are not yet downloaded. So, I'm looking for a command line switch, or "./configure" option, or source code patch, anything that can change mlnet's behavior.

Thanks in advance.
