Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

what kind of "dialers" I've been using mldonkey for about 3 months, and never heard of anything like that. If you're not running mldonkey as root you shouldn't have any problems with software installing itself, even in the worst case scenario.
I am not 100% sure that it was dialers but it looked like it - the one I remember was called hotsex.exe; I don't see what that has to do with the non-hotsex-stuff I downloaded.
I didn't feel like installing wine to check out what it really is.
Plus - d/l'ed some stuff and the system clock changed - no biggie - I just changed it back. After that mldonkey crashed - but not all of it.So I go and kill it all (nicely). After that my suse 8.1 download is no more a suse d/l but 18yrs_old... - you can guess the rest.I keep downloading that whatever it is right now because I want to see what is finally popping up.
Plus there seems to be a problem with servers - when I shut down mldonkey yesterday it souldn't connect to any servers anymore from it's new list.So I go and install the thing again with the server list that comes with it and is about a week old.Connected within 2 minutes??!!
Something is screwed up there.
