Missing .so files and what they are

I've downloaded the bibletime.rpm with it being sunday and all, and when i try to open the rpm it goes through everything then says missing: sword.1.5.7, libcrypto.so.0.9.6, libssl.so.096, libsword.so.3, and doesn't finish. What are .so files and where do i put them after i download them? Also where is the best place to get these things? Thanks for your time.

they are lbraries, look at http://www.rpmfind.net for libcrypto, libssl and libsword... or better yet. try starting with your installation cds and see if you can't find them there first...

It appears you are using an rpm based system so you may want to head over to rpmfind.net and enter the names of those .so files as search terms. RPMFind will return a list of rpms which provide
those .so files.

In the list returned you will want to match the disrobution and arch for your system. Also I would look for the most recent version. As a hint I think some of those so's are part of openSSL and or openSSH.

Good luck,

-Matt
