I seem to have lost the System Notification area completely along with the volume control icon. So applications which are minimized to the area are no longer accessible. To investigate I installed all-tray that can help minimize any application to the tray..It reported that the tray is 'Missing'....
Initially I thought it to be a simple issue of ...
1.Adding the applet /application to the panel...but it did not work out.
2.Reinstalled both KDE/GNOme....Did not work..
3.Elsewhere on the net I found that one option is to look at
/root/.kde/share/config/kickerrc..whose contents are pasted below..can anyone help me with this?
