missing libraries

well, in my attempt to install as few things as I could on my box it appears I have left out some libraries that are needed to install yahoo messenger, namely libcrypto.so.2 and libdb.so.2.

I'm not concerned so much about not having yahoo messenger as I am about understanding how to install new libraries if I need them for important things such as apache or samba.

I am running RedHat 9 on a PII 266 laptop.

Thanks,

those are just cryptlib and db i think. you should have
rpm's for them. linux wont screw a bunch of stuff up,
with you trying software like that. just keep adding what
you think it needs till it starts working.

they are in the SSH package.
Also, whenever you are out of a library or rpm go to
http://rpmfind.net

and type the name. You should also check out
http://freshrpms.net

hope that helps...
