Missing FFMPEG access rights

Hi,

I'm using Serviio media server 1.0.1 on Ubuntu 12.04 server.

Serviio is a DLNA media server that uses ffmpeg to transcode mutimedia files and stream them in the proper format to a TV for example.

Here's my problem:
In serviio log, I'm getting an error that says that ffmpeg execution failed.

Here's the detail log:
Code:

I tried a couple of things and I found out that when I do

sudo service serviio stop
sudo service serviio start

Everything works! But when I reboot I get the same error again. So it seems that after a reboot, the serviio service is started automatically (without me doing a sudo start) but it's missing rights.

Here's the complete steps I took to install serviio:

cd /opt
sudo wget http://download.serviio.org/releases/se ... nux.tar.gz
sudo tar -zxvf serviio-1.0.1-linux.tar.gz
sudo mv serviio-1.0.1 serviio
sudo rm -f serviio-1.0.1-linux.tar.gz

sudo ln -s /opt/serviio/bin/serviio.sh /usr/bin/serviio

sudo useradd -d /opt/serviio -r serviio
sudo usermod -a -G root serviio
sudo chown -R serviio:serviio /opt/serviio

sudo nano /etc/default/serviio

What is wrong with this setup that makes the automatically started service after a reboot missing rights?

Thanks.

Hi

It looks like the problem is wrong ownership of /tmp/Serviio. You could delete it, reboot so it gets deleted, or run this command:

Code:
sudo chown -R serviio /tmp/Serviio

I tried that, didn't work, still the same error message.

I even tried starting the servio deamon script using "root" instead of "serviio" and it doesn't work either.

For it to work I have to do

sudo service serviio stop
sudo service serviio start

What is wrong with the startup script that make it fail weather I'm using user "serviio" or "root" ?

Thanks.
