Minimizing Programs and Webpages using Red Hat 9
How do you minimize programs using Red Hat 9 with the gnome GUI so that when i minimize them they show up on the task bar at the bottom of the screen. right now when i minimize something it completely disappears and i'm not sure how to re-open it without starting a new program. for example when i minimize a webpage it completely disappears so that i can't see it anymore.....how do i re-open this webpage without opening a new browser window.

g'day Leroy27336,
I'm using gnome s oI use the window list applet. Right click on your menu bar. You should be able to add the aplet (and many others). Cheers |
i can add the applet, but it still won't perform in the same way as lets say windows does......i want to be able to minimize like 3 webpages to the task bar.........the thing is, when i minimize anything it just disappears.....i'm not sure how to re-open it, w/o re starting the program itself.......such as, when i minimize a webpage, i can't reopen it, i have to double click back on mozilla in order to get a browser......

G'day
Found this.... * From: "Tim" <tim loadedguntheory com> * To: "lappin" <galaxylappin optonline net>, "" <gnome-list gnome org> * Subject: Re: How can I restart/recover window list applet? * Date: Wed Nov 19 13:51:01 2003 If you still have a blank bar at the bottom of the screen where you used to have a list of windows, go ahead and right click on it. Choose Add to Panel->Utility->Window List. If you don't have the bar at the bottom you'll need to recreate it. Simply right-click on any existing panels and choose 'New Panel', drag it to the bottom of the screen. You might want to right-click on it and choose 'Properties' to modify its size. Then add the Window List as described above. -tim -----Original Message----- From: lappin Sent: 2003-11-19 19:37:54 To: Cc: Subject: How can I restart/recover window list applet? am using gnome 2.2.0.1 with Redhat 9. Starting yesterday I noticed that when I minimize a window it totally disappears. I read through the help documents and gathered that the problem is the window list applet. I think the applet may have been removed, or is no longer running. How can I recover the applet's functionality? Thanks in advance for your help. I posted this question on Red hat user list as well but no one seems to be going there. I am sorry for the double post and it will not happen again. _______________________________________________ gnome-list mailing list gnome-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-list |
