migrate kontact/korganizer settings from KDE 3.5.9 to KDE 4.1

Hey everyone,

I'm running the latest update of Kubuntu with KDE 4.1 and I'm trying to move all my settings from kontact (and its components) over to the new KDE PIM suite.

My main problem is with migrating my calender files from korganizer. If I tell the new korganizer to read the old .ics file (copied from ~/.kde/share/apps/korganizer) , all my time blocks are listed in UTC time and are often not placed in the right time slots... sometimes there are even random duplicate entries.

My regional settings are set correctly in both KDE's and I have tried saving in the formats offered. None have lead me to successfully import my korganizer data. There is also too much data in there that I need presently to start over.

Has anyone here successfully migrated korganizer information? If so, how? Any other tips? Thanks in advance!

For those who are curious, here's some tips on migrating to the new kmail:

Copy your ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/ folder to ~/.kde4/share/apps/ . This will allow the new kmail to use all your locally-saved emails.

For some reason, the new kmail won't read the old kmail settings file from ~/.kde/share/config/kmailrc , so you'll have to recreate your identity profile and add the receiving/sending information.

That means kmail-kde4 treats kmail as a different application. Anyway, it should always be possible to import mails into kmail-kde4
