Angry midi software and alsa troubles...

Haven't been posting for awhile. I got everything running very smoothly so far except for one issue: When I try to run stuff like rosegarden, seq24, etc. I end up with error messages which tell me that a alsa sequencer can't be found. Here's an example: When I run seq24, I get this message

majestix@gallia:~$ seq24
ALSA lib seq_hw.c:457snd_seq_hw_open) open /dev/snd/seq failed: No such file or directory
snd_seq_open() error
majestix@gallia:~$

So what's going on here? How can I get this to work? By the way I use Ubuntu Edgy Eft.
