Middle mouse button behaviour
 

Is it possible to define the default action of the middle mouse button? I know right now, that in for example firefox that the MMB opens a link in a new tab rather then a new window (which I believe is a general preference in firefox,) but I would like to change the default action of the mouse to "close."

Anyone know if this is possible? Default action meaning possible not just for firefox but maybe for all programs.
