Question Mercury not working with XGL

g'day
i have FC5-smp with XGL/compiz running on a regular basis. just about everything works fine except Mercury messenger. apparently the messenger loads up properly and when the window opens i cant see anything inside it as it is blank. the buttons are there as i have been able to log into MSN but i just cant see anything in the window.

now i wonder if this is related to mercury's GUI using JAVA an this highlights a problem with JAVA running under XGL. i a able to use azureus properly though and that too is java based.

any ideas ?
