media server for centos ... recommend one?
i'm looking to set up a media server at home so i can stream my music and movies from outside the home network, as well as my friend can access it as well.
i'm running centos 6.4. i'd like to be able to do it using a web browser on the client. i'd also like it to be free. i've tried gnump3d but i cannot get it to stream, it's download then play. i've also tried ngms lite but that is limited to 4 minutes. any suggestions? |
I'ma big fan of Plex personally.

if you didn't read up about it, it's broadly XBMC with a server backend. Very very good. For music though I just use Google Play Music though, vastly simpler with no upload.
