i believe one of the new features for mdk 9.1 (or perhaps not new, just a feature) is the ability to run on ntfs... not sure though...

bah, i only have a lil 20 gig hard drive, i would mainly be using the winxp install to run wine, or winex, if i can ever get it running, so it might be a better idea to run something like win 9x or an older version, perhaps?

ntfs is supported but there is no reliable write support
(actually it is dangerous)
if you have 20gb harddisk you could opt for 10gb fat32 partition and install xp there (9x is very primitive)
you can also try 2k if you think that your computer is slow under xp
this means you have 10 gb for mandrake
and if you want you can also use the windows space

that sounds like a reasonable idea... i dont have a legit version of xp, and the version i have had its cd key disabled, which was one of the main reasons i switched over to try linux...i think i may do that... thanks for all of the help, you guys do know what you are talking about
