mdk 9.2 install probs

Im trying to install mdk 9.2 on a dell with Windows XP,2gig processor,120 gig hd,256 memory.I got past the language selection screen then when it was up to the part where it deletes everything on the hard drive it just sat there saying "looking for updates".Not knowing what to do from there I tried to reboot but now it says unable to load operating system and I cant take the cd1 out of the computer.
