Mdk 9.1 Fonts w/ Mozilla

I've recently upgraded to Mandrake 9.1 from RH 8 (well worth it) and as I was updating some of the programs, I'm having problems getting these programs to 'see' the swank system fonts that mdk uses.

Take a look at this snapshot to see what's going on. The pic on the left is mozilla 1.3 that came with the mdk 9.1 distro, and the right is mozilla 1.4a that I've downloaded and installed. Notice that the fonts used are not the same and the right options does not have the ability to use the 'system fonts' as I want them to.

Any help would be appreciated!

hmmm...strange. Seems like they use the same font type but in diferent sizes ( I cannot see much diference between Sans Serif and Serif here ) try: click in "edit >> preferences >> appearence >> fonts " and choose "Minimum font size" and set a size that you feel confortable with. I use 12 myself and Sans Serif... Sorry it was of no help, it's the only thing I can think about

yeah, the problem is that in Mozilla's Preferences -> Appearance -> Fonts screen, you cannot change the font to use the system fonts. In fact most of the fonts that I have installed are not seen?! This leads me to think there is a some fonts folder setting somewhere that Mozilla uses to fill in the drop-downl lists of 'available' fonts.

For now, I'm using Mozilla 1.3, but my Intellimouse won't use the handy backward/forward buttons in this version, not to mention the obvious newer version I am missing out on.

Thanks for the help though. Anyone else got some idea??
