Let me get this straight, your mouse doesn't work in X or q3a(Quake 3 Arena I'm assuming) but works ok in Unreal 2k3?

I'm a newbi, way more than you, but here is what works for me as far as USB:

I have the A7N8X Deluxe, I think the only difference between your boad and mine is I have dual lan. I can't get the all of the USB ports to be 2.0, only 2 of the 4 are 2.0. This my not answer your question, but to get my sony DRX-500UL DVD burner to burn at full speed with USB I need to have it plugged into the ports that work as 2.0. You might want to try the other USB ports to try to get your mouse working. I have my mouse plugged into the ports that work as 2.0, but I know the other ports are working because it detected my DVD burner on them.

I have mandrake 9.1 installed right now to, but right now it's only the default kernal.

Hope you get everything working,
Stan
