Question maximize the sound

I am using cmpci modules for my sound cards support, in X (Fluxbox), I use xmms to play mp3.

The problem is that every time I need to fire up the gmix to turn up the volume(although I dont't need to adjust the volume, I had change it to max by default). I don't want to execute gmix each time I startx. Anyone has tweaks regarding this?

Also, if this can be done hence, in console, I use mpg123 to play mp3.

Same situation, I need to execute gmix and return to console to play mp3 (maximize the volume)
How to set the sound volume max in startup, ?? (eg. /etc/rc.d/rc.local)??

hmmmm

dude, in my experience, whatever u set xmms volume to (check xmms options for this) will be system default.. u can change that however... just use xmms volume control to put it on maximum... then close xmms... reboot... and see what happens. this has worked for me in the past...

also: i now leave the sound turned up about the middle... better quality if u make your speakers do the amplifying :-)
