Mandrake won't autologin after upgrade to KDE3.3
I'm running Mandrake 10.1 COmmunity, and have one non-root user account. I had it set to automatically login to that user account when the computer started, and not require a password for that user to login after logging out.
Since I upgraded to KDE3.3 via URPMI, I now get the login screen on startup instead of automatically logging me in on startup, and I can no longer login without typing my password. I have chosen autologin under "configure your computer", but it is not respecting my choice. I am alse a curious about why I can't login as root anymore. The login screen has the word "User" then the name of my user account hard coded, not in an editable text field. |
You are using kdm, right? If so, have you tried running (as root) "kcmshell kdm", and setting autologin from there?

Yes I've run that program, but changing the autologin settings from there doesn't appear to work.
