Mandrake Freezing

I'm a complete linux newbie. I have problem with mandrake freezing whenever I try the control center to setup my internet. Also I get an error with interface eth0 loading. Thanks for your help. I don't know if this is relevant but I had to use the text install instead of the graphic install because mandrake setup would keep freezing up on me in the first couple screens. Thanks.

What version of mandrake do you have? I didnt know that they had an option for text install with mandrake...I only saw the options for graphic or text install with Redhat.
