Mandrake display problem
 

While installing Mandrake 8.2 when it get to Configure X Server, after choosing my display from the list, which is a dell model D1028L monitor, the display freezes. I tried the install twice and got the same result.
I believe that the problem has some thing to do with my display but I am not sure. The display adapter is a ATI 3D Rage Pro apg 2x.

Does anyone have any idea how to configure the x server without doing the install all over. Since the install is practically complete.

run XFdrake as root in a console

I have a similar problem but I did a core-reboot and the system boots into textmode and i ran the command startx, obviously it didn't and the system is intelligent enought to prompt if you would like the x server config program to run and from there it was able to config properly. Good luck!
