Mandrake 9 - I do need some help!
 

The only kernel that I can boot to install with is the alt2 kernel I forget the name of it tho . All the other one's freeze at the partition check then give some inturrupus number and irq8 or something not really sure..

so I go to install mandrake with the alt2 kernel and after it scans my puter it goes to a msdos looking stage where you choose cdrom for the source or other sources.. it goes ERROR: We now use kernel pcmcia support and this wont work with a 2.2 kernel. then gives me the only choice of OK ..

Now I got it installed and I choose from linux/fail-safe/floppy .

None of them work and all stall/freeze on that partition check.

boot into the system with a root floppy, chroot into the / folder, mount all filesystems. install the kernel that works, and install lilo to MBR
