Unhappy Mandrake 9.2 - Realplayer will not stream video since fall '03. Solutions?

Hi, I've asked this before but still haven't gotten the realplayer streaming video. I think in the fall realplay changed the format somewhat with an upgrade. All the players I've downloaded (.rpm's - i don't know how to install other types) have had problems. I can get the realplayer 8.0 to play downloaded music clips from amazon and such. But that is it. Any help you may be able to give this newbie is greratly appreciated!
