Mandrake 9.1

i got bored today so i downloaded Mandrake 9.1 and installed it...its the weirdest thing. I boot into KDE/Gnome/you name it and its like it didnt generate menus of the apps i have installed. Everything is obviously installed (see screenshot) but they just dont show up...wtf?

check this out

You know, I got that only sometimes when I upgraded to 3.1 using URPMI in Mandrake 9.0

But then 10 mins later, it was all there...off and on...

Now I've installed 9.1 and all is good.

Have you tried going into Menudrake? (In the mandrake control center) Check what's in there ...

IIRC, mandrake uses a menu system similar to Debian's. Perhaps it's not installed/updated?

jbstew32 03-28-2003 06:09 PM

it was a fresh install so i can only assume it wasnt installed...what is the name of the package then?

bahamat 03-29-2003 09:52 AM

menu?

jbstew32 03-29-2003 01:38 PM

its the dumbest thing ever. It doesnt actually generate the menu at all until i manually ran menudrake...

that's a pretty serious bug (unless its just for me heh) for the newbies out there.

That did not happen to me.

Yeah, it's just you. I did a fresh install of 9.1 and I haven't had to do ANYTHING yet, unlike 9.0 where a few things weren't configured quite right out of the box.
