I installed mandrake on a second partition of my hard disk.

I choosed this version because it supposed to work on fat but when i installed, the setup never asked me about the partitions.

Now this partition is not FAT. I want windows to watch these partition, so i can move files between them. I don´t know if there a way, but if it´s necessary i´d reinstall it again.

But for that, i want to know wich is the safest way to do it, and how to prevent errors with grub.

I installed Mandrake 7.2 fine with win98 on the same drive. Windows doesn't recognise any other operating systems and therefore you won't be able to move a file or browse your Linux partition while you are in windows. But, if you are in Linux, which uses a different file system(ext2 I think), you can browse and write to the windows partition without any probs.
In terms of reinstalling and preventing any permanent damage to your MBR, you should have a backup of your boot sectors so they can be reinstalled if anything goes wrong. Is your mandrake system working o.k? If so don't bother reinstalling.

i had a trouble with my video. Color stripes are in my monitor. I´m going to try tonight.

But are you sure that windows can´t see the linux partition on FTA. whan i was using winlinux , i didnñt have any oh these problems.

steve is right about being able to read and write to the windows partition... for linux, there is even a continuing effort to the produce Dos, BeOS, Windows emulators (amongst many others) so that different file formats can be read on the linux platform.

It is also true that windows does not recognize the ext2 format and therefore cannot read or write to the linux partition.

i think winlinux is installed 'on top' of windows (ie. it is only a linux environment, kinda not like the real thing, i think), whereas mandrake is unto itself. hence the inability for Windows to read and write the Mandrake linux partition.
