Im totally confused at the Mandriva.com website, I want to upgrade from Mandrake 10.1 but dont know which Mandriva product Im supposed to purchase, I only use it as a personal computer, as well as I want to use it to host some virtual hosts on it (i.e. apache, mysql etc).
What one am I supposed to choose? Do they all cost money now, or is there a free mandriva? if so where?
2006 is done and being released to paid club members, but not up for public free download yet. It might be better to wait a few weeks until they put up the ISO's for 2006 before you upgrade. Of course, that's up to you.
Look for the boot.iso file. Download that, insert and reboot. Do an ftp upgrade to 2006, it's free which is always good and not near as big of a file to download.
Pick one, I picked the mizz one cause it's close, navigate to ~/install/images. There you will find a boot.iso file, download and burn it to a cdr or rw if u dont want to waste a cd. Insert cd into drive and reboot. You will get a install screen similar to if you were installing from the dvd or 3 CD iso version. It will ask some questions about your Internet configuration. Give it what it needs. Next it will ask what type of install, http, ftp and many others. Choose ftp. Then choose the option that you want to download from the official mirrors, it'll give you a list, pick one and then from there on out I believe it's just like any other upgrade/install. It'll ask you for everything it needs. Oh and if some of my terminology or names of things isn't right, it's close.
